Overprotective Mommy: Slathers baby's entire body with SPF 50 twice during a 30 minute splash-pad venture in addition to covering baby's head with cute sun hat and hovering above baby with giant shade umbrella.
Negligent Mommy: Fails to reapply SPF 50 to baby's scalp (perhaps negligent mommy thinks cute sunhat and giant umbrella are sufficient sun protection negating the need for additional scalp coverage).
I was simultaneously both of these mommies. As a result, Phoebe now sports a rashy sunburn on her scalp and neck. Bye bye perfect baby soft skin.
By the way, and be honest, how many of you driving by in your cars would have pointed and laughed at that crazy woman standing with the umbrella in the middle of a water park in which the sole purpose is to get wet? I would have.
